SA Eesti Maaelumuuseumid C.R. Jakobsoni Talumuuseum ja kohvik

The café of the farm museum specializes in Estonian national food. The local griddle cake, quark cake and potato and barley porridge known as ‘mulgi puder’ have become its long-loved specialties.

Educational program ‘Estonian food throughout the year on the farm’ (workshop).

This program of the museum, which is also an operating farm, introduces Estonian food-related traditions, the effect of seasons on the farmer’s table, the Kurgja farm, C. R. Jakobson’s principles of farming and food-making as well as the rout of farm food to the table from the barn and the garden. The workshop features include a role play game depicting a farmer’s family and a hearty Estonian dinner.

Workshops are held only upon booking in advance.

The café in the farm museum’s kiln room offers Estonian national food, using as much as possible of the farm’s own produce. The local griddle cake, quark cake and potato and barley porridge known as ‘mulgi puder’ have become its long-loved specialties. During the high season, individual visitors can have a snack or entrée without ordering in advance, but should place an order beforehand if they would like a hot meal.

As we aim to provide food made of fresh ingredients, groups (10—60 people) need to place a prior order for any meal.

We can make some soup for a hikers’ break or organize a reception dinner for your corporate even.
